The Hospital de Sant Pau in Barcelona is one of the world’s largest art nouveau sites and together with Palau de la Música Catalana, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Although the hospital’s current buildings date from the 20th century, the Hospital de la Santa Pau was founded way back in 1401 when six small medieval hospitals merged. Amazingly, it was still in operational use till 2009 … Imagine turning up there in an ambulance? ‘Is this heaven?’ Now, it became a museum and cultural center and is an ideal venue for hosting corporate events, professional meetings and that is what took me there for the first time. Philips hosted an event with welcome drinks outside on the main pavilion followed by a conference / debate and a buffet meal. I was well impressed.
