Last year we spent a few hours in Girona on a wet Sunday afternoon. I was instantly clear we had to go back to see the city in its true glory with sunshine, blue skies and warm, vibrant colours. We meant to go many times but things kept getting in the way. When Ben Evans from Barcelona Photography organised a “Girona Photography Adventure” Meetup, we knew the time had come. No more excuses, put the to-do list aside & GO.
We rented a cute studio overlooking the beautiful Plaça del Oli and we were instantly in Photo Adventure Mode. We met up with the group and started exploring the city focussing on portrait shots, the reflections of the houses on the river, capturing the curiosities on the flea market. Once we had the typical highlights covered it was time for some more artistic shots and some well deserved food. It was the weekend of Girona 10 meaning you could eat a delicious meal for 10 EUR only. The food was fantastic and the break gave us the excellent opportunity to get to know our fellow Girona Adventurers a bit better, a varied and interesting mix as usual. The toughest part for most of us was yet to come, the cold and the dark = a challenge to take pictures but we did well and ended up in a bar for a weldeserved drink and in my case, the Girona version of a White Russian = white Russian vodka.
Thanks to the group for such wonderful company, thanks to the weathergods for giving us the perfect light and thanks to Oxana from “lodgingingirona” for providing us with the cutest studio after another one was just cancelled on us.

[…] I fell in love with the Fujifilm system the moment I saw the X-E1. It was being tested by my fellow photo buddy Ben Evans on loan from Fujifilm ES at the time. So we decided to organise one the monthly photowalk gathering in Girona you can see that blog post here. […]
